I had this problem with a caliper once. With the caliper off the car I put it in a vice with some packing to get the vice to act on the piston and forced the piston back in. There was an almighty bang and I thought I had broken the caliper in half as I was using a lot of force, but, no, it had pushed the piston back in. Then I cleaned up the bore, refitted it to the car and pumped the piston out with the brake pedal. I was then able to rebuild the caliper. Worth a try.
