Don't know about CT but in NY the LAST thing you wanted to do was deal with it in the courtroom.
You find the ADA and make a deal in the hall.
Ours was a skinny nervous disheveled guy named Stu.
He, my brother, and I were on a 1st name basis.
My brother and I had never gone to see him together, always separate.
One day I had to go deal with something and I see a classmate from HS. She got a speeder in excess of 25 over the posted limit. She was going to plead guilty.
Told her no effin way, that's automatic revocation of your license for at least 30 days.
Took her to see Stu and quickly explained her predicament. He gave her failure to signal. She ran off happy as can be. I kind of shuffled about because I had just been there a few weeks before.
He looks up and says "I assume you have an issue to?" Me, sheepishly, yeah.
"Why am I not surprised, what is it?" Speeding. Only 5 over it's bogus but I'm maxed on points. He yells and screams a bunch of profanities at me, gives me some stupid no points deal and tells me to GTFO.
As I'm heading out the door he screams, "and I don't want to see you OR your brother in here for the rest of the year!!"
Later I tell the story to my brother and he says yeah, I was in to see him yesterday.
