I seldom have cash on me. When I do, it's generally no more than $40 in some weird configuration of $1s and $5s. But if I have it to spare, I'll hand out a coupla bucks to a person standing at the many exit/entrance ramps around the city (I swear these peeps are all over the place, in Raleigh). I'll just do something stupid with it myself, so if it buys a guy a Whopper or a beer, so be it. No matter how I rationalize it, I'm still better off; they ain't getting rich. And they don't need my judgements.
