I'm trying to sell a car on Craigslist and after dealing with several scammers: See here http://forums.pelicanparts.com/off-topic-discussions/930771-whats-paypal-scam-here.html I get a response from what appears to be an actual potential buyer.

Long story short - He ends up asking if I could provide him a VIN report and suggests using "Detect Vin" because it's cheaper than Carfax. I was 99% there and said to myself, "I have never heard of Detect Vin, I'm going to Google them". Has anyone heard of this service before or scam?

I am becoming more and more convinced that the brilliant people of this world are scammers, hackers, and con men. They are brilliant! Why work an honest job for "the man" making peanuts when you can make millions being a scammer.
