Well,THAT didn't go the way I thought it would.
I spent the last 2 nights in the hospital! My first time as a patient since 5th grade.
The laptop was being repaired and I couldn't figure out how to post on my phone. The laptop is back as am I.
So, I get the CT scan done Monday at 2pm. Waited around for the results and was told to get to the ER right away. WTH?!!!
Called backup to take care of the kids and puppy. On the way to the scan place the throttle on the Suquinox stuck WFO as I was merging on to the freeway. Stayed calm and turned the key back to kill the engine, moved the trans to neutral and coasted to the side. It seems that in my haste and aggravation of having to go to the ER I must have pushed the pedal just enough MORE to wedge it against my plastic floormat. I fixed it and got on my way again.
Wifey meets me there and I get checked in, stillnot having any idea what is wrong. The scannery place sent a CD of my gut to give to them. ER doc comes in and tells me I have Diverticulitus and I'll be spending a few days with them.
They hooked me up to IVs for anti-biotics. They tried to give me Morphine but I told them to keep it. I really was not in pain. All of the folks that came in couldn't believe that I was not feeling extreme pain. No food or liquids since I walked in their door so that meant I had only had some pizza on Sunday and ONE cup of coffee Monday until this afternoon when they approved jello and a popsicle. Told me I was now on a low fiber diet. My nurse at the time ordered supper which was roast beef, carrots, potatoes of some sort and strawberry shortcake. Hmmm, this might not be so bad afterall.
I have some meds to take for a few more days and need to follow up with my PCP next week. They did another scan this morning and it looked better so no surgery, at this time anyway.
I was getting a bit worried because the staff were almost too nice. Everybody was really cool and I had a private room.
Anyway I'm back home to the zoo that is my family.
