If you're not familiar with the f355 belt job, I'd certainly not try and figure it out. It's going to require belts, tensioners, numerous other little bits. I think it's around $1500 or so...just for the parts. Go for Hill Engineering tensioners. You'll want to replace or rebuild water pump while you're in there. Setting cam timing is....well....critical. are you that confident? I've rebuilt engines...bit even that scared me. The idea of grenading an engine didn't sound like fun.

I think I paid 8k for the full service, with photo documentation from one of the best shops in socal. Could I have done it? Most likely. ...but if he plans to sell the car, I guarantee you, it'll be much harder to sell without the work documented from a well known shop. Ferrari buyers....worst ever.
