The tunnel # is on the top of the tunnel along the left edge of the opening for the gearshift coupler cover. This is only on the Karmann bodied cars; look for a Karmann paint badge. Given all of the numbers you can find I may be able to estimate the VIN range. If that range is small enough, then the factory may be willing to check the files to find the exact VIN; that is a long shot however.
