As I'm sure you know, the RS has a much sportier riding position than the RT, if you look at the numbers [from cycle-ergo.com]: forward lean of 15 degrees compared to 2 degrees for the RT, and a hip angle of 79 degrees compared to 88 for the RT.
Getting back to Choc's plaint; boxers are an acquired taste. RT's, since the '70's, have always looked staid, but they're plenty quick. I remember David Swider, former president of MOA, writing that on his RT he could easily run with guys on sportbikes - 2 up.
For many years, I've wished that Motor Rad would contract the RT's styling out to one of the Italian design houses. But the newer ones don't look bad.
