This isn't nascar. they aren't supposed to crash at high speed. They don't have 3200 pound cages protecting them.

when this cocky little snot makes two or THREE separate dangerous blocking line changes like he did at spa, he is putting other driver's lives in danger.
Eventually they'll get sick of it and put HIM into the wall, hopefully no one will looose their life.

Would YOU get on a track with a driver who ignores the safety rules?
The first time he intentionally violated a safety rule and nearly crashed YOU out at speed, would you think he was the fonze?

Prolly not.

edit:

If i recall, we had a similar discussion years ago about Simonchelli.
I said he was dangerous and out of control, others disagreed.
Being a fellow countryman to him, I watch his moves very carefully and have not yet seen him make moves that are any more dangerous or risky than the others...I mean, who can forget the Schumacher chop?

I think all this craziness around ever-narrowing rules of engagement are sanitizing the sport out of existence, there is no totally safe way to drive 300kmh, go around corners in groups and never have the crashes and bangs that are unfortunate result of a bunch of type A drivers in virtually equal cars all trying to fit in poorly designed tracks without good passing locations.

As for 3200lbs of roll cage, F1 is pretty tough, far less momentum in the cars and far less protective steel required.

I do not want to see any driver die, but seeking the infinite standard of protection for the highest level of auto racing makes as much sense as a vegan bullfight.

Verstappen pushes the limits, for sure, but not unduly so in my view.
