The hardest thing to teach someone is how to think like successful people do. But some of the greats have a kind of drive that is probably not fully sane. Some will go on to learn, and others not. I seem to recall some shunts that were downright Machiavellian, and at least one of the true greats going down trying to make undeveloped machinery take him to the podium.
