I removed the A/C from my 1988 3.2. One thing I learned is to cut the hoses up. In the engine compartment cut the hoses just before they disappear from view. When you start pulling from the underside there is just that much less to pull. When everything was removed I lost 52.3 lbs. Like a previous post I used sheet metal screws and RTV to plug the clamp holes.
