Had the same thing happen to me over a year ago. Pulled off the rusty remains with the intention of replacing it, but never got around to it. I check everything around that area when I change the oil/work under the car and nothing is worn visibly. Regardless, not replacing a heat shield of any kind is a big NO NO, so call Partshaven. They'll hook you up.
