Mine didn't used to expire like that, but they claim they decided they wanted people to take their vacations so made it start expiring. Think it was really that the HR program they started using got upset over collecting vacation. Got paid like $12K for the vacation I had stowed away over 33 years.

This January they are going to a new program that doles out the years worth of vacation on Jan 1, but doesn't let you carry any over. Again they are saying it's for our convenience to we don't have to accrue vacation days at the first of the year before we can take it. Think it is just the way a new program HR is using handles vacation.

December I am giving everyone an email account so they can log into the system, request and track their vacation on-line. Going to cost the company $4 a month per employee for that. And so far it it is going to be 100 employees that don't currently have company email.
