I'm going to do this to my 77 Targa - eventually. My car still the heavy Behr compressor. According to Porsche it has option # 399: Air conditioning without front condensor. Weird why someone would select this option.
When I replaced my alternator, I could not move the compressor far enough toward the engine to properly get the belt off. The compressor hits the fan housing.
