What's this? Logic applied to guns laws? Imagine that!
Here in the US, suppressor ownership is federally legal, but is not allowed in every State. Even in those states that do allow it, you have to go through an involved process (background check, fingerprinting, Chief LEO notification for your area, etc.).
You also have to pay a $200 "tax" per item, and wait several months before being approved/allowed to take possession.
