I have been married for 24 years now and her ring has not been taken off my finger. Very simple white/yellow gold band. Nothing special, maybe worth $300 total in currency. Far more, as with Hugh, in memories and legacy.
Agree with Rick L and invest in a metal detector. If it is on your property you will find it. If not, make a special trip and get another. That is what I would do. Bottom line - your bride is still by your side and you are thankful for that. A first world problem for sure. Good luck!
