I have lost more wedding rings washing cars than anything else using this "loofa" type mitt. The inside gets soapy and wet, and will pull a ring off in a heartbeat.
If you were using one, it is probably there. Also check any gloves you might have worn recently (yard gloves, utility gloves, latex work gloves, etc...)
