My favorite double action revolver is my old S&W Model 19. Light, handy, accurate, and the smoothest action in the business. I shoot nothing but .38 Specials out of mine (actually my own handload that mimics .38 Special performance, but uses .357 mag brass). If you don't reload, you will still find .38 Specials to be about the cheapest centerfire ammo out there. On the rare occasion you might want to load it with full house .357 magnums, it will shoot those with aplomb as well.
