I have a newer model 686 stainless steel holds 7 rounds of .357/38 special it is a TALO edition very very nice. I also have a nickle plated ( ? ) 32 cal. S&W that is a hoot to fire, very lightweight and 32 long has enough power to drop someone if you had to . Best advice I can give you is first go to a local gun show if possible, you will see a huge variety that you can hold in your hand and get a feel for. Unless you find a diamond in the rough I wouldn't buy just yet. Find 2 , 3 , 4 models that you like and then go to your local range/gun shop. There you can fire the guns and REALLY narrow down what you like . Be safe and have fun !
