To me this is a bit stupid, but queen's english is close to how we speak in Canada, so I would say I live at Rural Route (root) #1, but as a child I had a paper route (rout).
I've heard it both ways, never thought anything of it.

I think if you were to trace most english words many of them are now pronounced incorrectly.

How about color vs colour? Dropping the U is strictly an american thing, almost out of laziness.
Or how you pronounce Z as Zee, when we say Zed. You got to admit a Camaro Z28 sounds way more bad ass when we call it a "Zedder" or Zed 28.

I would say dove or "we went on a dive yesterday morning".
I've never said dived, to me that's like saying mouses instead of mice.
BTW I'm a NAUI scuba diver since I was 13 years old, at the time I was the youngest certified NAUI "junior" diver in Canada.

BTW do you say "routine" r-out-ine or roo-tine?

Not putting miles on your car is like not having sex with your girlfriend, so she'll be more desirable to her next boyfriend.
