The taste is awful! Greasy gravy on top of greasy french fries. Yuck! I was at a Mom and Pop "home cooking" place on some back road in Ontario and I could see them make an order of poutine. They poured frozen pre-cut potatoes into the frier and nuked half a jar of off the shelf gravy in the microwave. That's real home cookin' right there.
