Wow, 44K for an engine is kinda pricey. After just 6K miles it darn sure should be a warranty replacement. I could build one monster 911 engine for that much.
One of the local guys has the oldest 356 sold new in the USA. He has another 356 that he uses the bright orange space saver rims from a Macan as the wheels for his street 356. It is cool that after all those years the bolt pattern is the same 5 bolt pattern. If it works, why change it. He liked the look of those wheels and they were fairly cheap from junk yards.
