So there's no doubt that this is a crazily frivolous lawsuit.

Having said that, it's equally crazy to think you are scared of text messaging because of it. There are a bunch of ways to avoid the issue.

Do you literally type in every phone number each time you make a call/ send a text? Just program it.

If it was programmed, just incorrectly, and the guy never responded to you other than when you heard from the police, then you have nothing to worry about. It doesn't break spam rules because you weren't soliciting.
