My first Porsche (2008), A non running 924S was given to me for free by a family friend who really really wanted it gone.

My second Porsche (2011) was a beautiful 78SC Targa, purchased for 9K with a recently rebuilt engine and new seats. Still chugging along today beautifully. This was about the low point in the market for these cars and its hard to find a nice running example for under 10K but you can for sure find them for around that.

My third P-car (2012) was a really minty 87 944 that I bought for 4K. Those cars still seem to be in that price range but are steadily rising along with the 911's of that vintage. I would say, get them now while you still can!

My biggest regret: by far, not strongly considering an early year turbo back in 2010, they were cheap, no one wanted them for some strange reason and the prices as of late have sky rocketed.

My biggest saving grace: buying my 911SC over the Lotus Esprit Turbo I was looking at...
