How frequent are the games? Once a month a hundred bucks - heck go and enjoy yourself. Take a stake that you can afford and that is worth the comaraderie and and go for it. If you don't want to commit that much time and money to personal entertainment, then decline. This is a situation where you are in or you are out. You are either a regular or you are an outsider. If it's a weekly game, you really have to be committed. Sucks, but that's the way of men.
