Addition Info reference in the 101 Projects Book (and help with oil type selection)

Hi all,

Question for ya...in the 101 Projects book, in the section for oil changed, Wayne talks briefly about choosing an oil type. He mentions going to 101Projects.com for more information.

I went there but I can't find more information. Can someone point me to those details please?

Here is my question. I live in Arizona and I will be attempting my first oil change in late January. That change should take me to about June for the next 5000 mile change. My mechanic, I know used a synthetic Pennzoil type, but I don't know the exact type. Prior to that was the previous owner and he had the dealer do that change. The paperwork for that one just said Mobil 1 Syn.

I'm not married to any brand so can someone give me some suugestions on what brand and weight would be appropriate for my climate? I think Porsche recommends 0W40 and something else...However, in my case with a January thru June run I have the cold morning startups into the hot afternoon trip home from work.

Thoughts?

Thank you!!!

Adam
