I certainly wouldn't consider it frightening. Our spyder at 1600 lbs and 280ish qualifies as "exciting" but not frightening. Around the same HP weight (spyder actually has more huevos per pound) and I guarantee that the Cayman has a MUCH better sorted chassis than our kit car.

I view Frankenstein cars like this in much the same manner I view horses...
uncomfortable in the middle and dangerous at both ends. Trying to sit in a Boxster convinced me they aren't a car for me...just not enough legroom for my frame.
I can see the "excitement" of more power...
