I have a 914, ready in every way except for electrical (see "1974 w/carbs wiring diagram" post for the background). I have all of the connections accounted for. There is only one problem, the car does not have a voltage regulator. Here is the question:

I will need to patch a regulator into the system. My understanding is that DF is my source from the alternator. When the voltage is "good" it is passed along to D+. When the voltage is "bad" it is shorted to D- (or ground). Is this correct? Any help would be GREATLY appreciated! I will FINALLY have this thing running once I figure out this last problem!!!!!
