I agree with Bills assessment. I put a few miles on a 964 and a bunch of miles on a 993. Both cars are very refined compared to an SC though the essence remains in terms feel with rear weight bias, doors, seats, belts, dash etc. The steering is super light being power and they shift like any modern car.
There is less deterioration as interior is a little better assembled, window mouldings fit better etc.
One big difference is they are way more powerful with far more low end torque with the 3.6.
