+1, also like this drive (doing it quite often from Winchester to UVA to drop off/pick up my daughter).
Also, from Winchester take Rt 50 West to Romney, WV and then up by Mount Storm to Canaan Valley. Bring your clubs if you are a golfer or go for a hike.
Another, from Winchester take Rt 522 North and after about 6 Miles follow thr signs to Pawpaw, WV. From there go on to Cumberland, MD. You can follow interstates from there to get back to Northern Virginia.
Or just go anywhere West of Winchester and follow a country road. If you get lost just keep driving East until you hit I81 (optional use of GPS is OK)
