Wow, sure glad the smoker roaster grill works in cold weather. Almost makes if feel like summer having fresh hot smoked meats. Slow smoked a steak, oh my. Put it in the smoker with a temp probe. Took it a whole 7 minutes to reach 160 in the middle of the 1-1/2 inch NY Strip. Pulled it out of the smoker and put the grill grate on. Turned the fire up and grilled it for another 2 minutes to get the center up to 160 again adding grill marks, then flipped it and left it another 2 minutes with the lid open to get the grill marks. Plated it, put a slab of butter on it and let it set another 3 minutes covered. Total time was 15 minutes.
It came out just right at medium rare. Another tender, juicy, and delicious grill offering. Had more smokey flavor than I've ever tasted in a cut of meat!
