The weight of a kayak and difficulty of towing it up to the lake depends upon what you get.

A plastic sit on top will weight 45- 60#
A cedar strip with fiberglass coating (inside and out) will weight 35# (16')
A Skin on Frame kayak (wood frame, dacron skin painted with house paint) will weight 28# - not oz's.

It also depends upon how wide the kayak is.

Is it a big climb up to the lake? 2 miles is not far on a bike, and you can just grind away in a lower gear and still make progress.

Have you ever kayaked? A narrower boat may be tricky to handle fishing and your balance at the same time, if you have no experience (24" wide boat).

A strap on set of wheels might be 2.5 to 3' wide, will your path allow that?
