Bell you are of incredible help! I took to your comment that i may be able to rotate the bank 4-6 cams 180 deg without pulling the valve covers or removing tensioner and came up with a plan. I was able to find a spot on the crank rotation (i think 90 deg from tdc) to get all 3 pistons at the most overall clearance which was about 3/4" from TDC each with one almost all the way back. I made a special tool by cutting a piece of steel plate to match cam groove shape and welding a nut on it so i could manipulate them from the back. This allowed me to remove cam plugs on back, mark the cams there, loosen the variocam and use my special tool to roatate the cam 180 deg while my buddy held the crank. I then tightened this cam, then i removed the 4 bolts on exhaust sprocket, rotated it with my special tool and locked it in at 180 deg. This got me close enough to get motor back to TDC and pin crank, loosen cams again, use rear plate to hold cams, then unpin crank, roll crank backwards a bit (towards U6) the. Roll back 100% into time and torque variocam and exhaust cam in place!
Here is the first crank in 4 years! I'm soooooo happy! Thank you So much and it didn't require even pulling the vakve cover!
