the truth is, the 944 was designed to have pep and be a world-class handler, but not be particularly powerful. modifying the n/a engine to produce real hp or dropping a different type of engine in there will likely be an expensive proposition.
you might consider looking at 944 turbos (951) for real power. or follow the supercharger threads here on pelican...there is one that is pretty current and some here are optimistic of an affordable (reliable?) sc for the n/a.
