In theory, that's a great idea. In reality, one guy will be driving when the motor blows. Two guys will blame him for a mechanical over-rev and not want to pay 1/3 each. The result will be a homeless track car and three friends who don't speak to each other. I was Chairman of the Porsche Owners Club Performance Driving Series for three years. I witnessed this happen on several occasions.
