I think there are a lot of people would take a carbon fiber Ruf over a Singer any day. And vice versa. They are different cars for different buyers.
Personally I'd probably not want either though mixing the two would be close to perfect. I'm a certified weight freak. My 73 is just a steel unibody with no interior other than a dash and a fixed back bucket, with a 3.2 and mag case 915. Whole car is 2175 lb and more fun than you can shake a stick at. That's what I love. Mixing the ultralight Ruf carbon unibody (as a longhood) with Singer styling would be perfection.
This Ruf vs. Singer thing is funny. For most of us it's like who would you rather date, Paulina Porizkova or Cindy Crawford. Definitely Paulina, of course.
