Yeah, if I was in that market, and had to have something different, I think one of the Masers would be more my style. I'm not assuming that either will be reliable, but the sound of the Maser is going to be much better than the sound of the V-6 in the Alfa. I think he's enamored of a longish standard warranty. I'll be curious to see how that works out for him.

Even if I liked this car, I would only buy it if money was of no concern, as you can be guaranteed resale to drop like a rock. Your pal doesn't sound like he is made of money, but let him go ahead and make some poor decisions, maybe he has more dough than you know ...
I think he's got money saved away. He's been making decent money for 12-15 years as a single guy. He's talked about how he doesn't understand how people go into debt. I think he's probably done some impressive saving for a younger guy. The problem in my head is more about the maintenance costs, but then I guess if it's new and under warranty for several years and a bunch of miles. His commute is only a few miles each way.

Yeah, we aren't that close, and he's strong headed. Myself and another coworker tried to persuade him otherwise.

Wow, yeah, that's HOT. Yours has much more character. If I had to buy a new Alfa, it would be a 4C, but then that's definitely not the market that he's in.
