I think this is a big part of it, and the 'safety guards' seemed complicated enough that most people would not use them. The lawyers would have a field day.
I also suspect it does a decent job, but is still inferior to a cabinet saw and compound miter saw.
And I want to jump from saw to saw, not spend time re-configuring that thing.
