I would feel exposed and vulnerable w/o a full face. Then you need to decide what to spend for quality.
I finally bit the bullet last year & bought the Schuberth SR1 Technology - worth every penny of the $900 (on sale).
If you can even find them anymore. Super light weight & gobs of ventilation...great for the Arizona summers...along with a pilot skull cap.
Best helmet I've ever had...and I've had plenty in my 55 yrs. of riding.
