I see lots of orange and neon green vests on motorcyclists these days. Seems like a good idea...

Cycle World thought so, too. So he decided to wear one every other day on his commute for one full summer. He jotted down his experiences every day, both with and without the vest. Much to his surprise, his "near misses" rose dramatically with the brightly colored vests. Much more so than he could attribute to chance.
He thought it was possibly "target fixation" on drivers' parts. We tend to drive at what we are looking at. That's about all he could come up with, since the results were so counter-intuitive. He was convinced, going in, that he would "prove"
bright vests save lives (I wanna see a sticker that says that...), but he "proved" just the opposite. To his satisfaction, anyway.
