paying duty on German made parts bought from Pelican??
a fellow I know locally placed a large order with Pelican. when it arrived at the Canadian border they contacted Pelican to confirm that all the parts were of US manufacture. Pelican confirmed all parts were of US manufacture. Customs officials then opened the boxes and of course many items are from Germany.
now the purchaser is being charged duty on the German made parts plus fines that must be paid before the shipment will be released from Canada Customs.
has anyone run into this? I've placed many orders and never a problem.
