A question for the Gurus
Will it harm a 6 pin CDI to run the tach off the coil?
I have a '71 that I just installed a '78 motor into along with its 6 pin CDI and distributor.
My '71's tach was hooked up to the coil originally and my car has the "intermediate unit".
If I hook up my tach as before, meaning to the coil, (not to TD on the CDI) my tach works.
This is not how the 6 pin CDI was originally wired, so am I putting extra stress on the 6 pin CDI? Or am I good to go?
