You think your mad, I pasted on any early alloy body 300SL for $24k 30 years ago. Front end was damaged and car was all apart, bare frame and the rest in about 40 boxes. Who would have known it was going to be worth over a million $$. Tried to buy this barn find 20 years ago, but the widow of the owner was a nut job. Her husband told her it was one of seven made and worth $250000. Showed her a Hemmings with 8 for sale, and at the time fully restored cars were selling for about $100k. Offered her $60k as the car only had 34k kms. on the clock, and had been parked since 1964. Still wonder who ever got it, because I'm sure she died still owning it.
