If Border Services called Pelican and they got some random person - who knows? - that person could have given them attitude, or been clueless about Canadian import regulations - Many Americans are unaware of different rules in Canada - it would just take 1 indifferent attitude from someone in California to encourage the CBSA to look a little closer.

I have travelled several times to Niagara to pick up parts - each time I declare everything and expect to pay full boat. I assume they are well trained so they can tell when you BS them - either on the phone or in person. Not worth the few bucks you would save if you pulled it off.

I am not complaining - I want a secure border.
