Are we saying "what is your DREAM Porsche?" I find that my tastes lean toward mid engined Porsches these days. I say these days because I own so many rear engined air cooled Porsches.
1. 918 Spyder. I should just get this one out of the way now. Based on how surprisingly good the 987.2 is.
2. 916
3. 914-6 GT. Based on how much I love my 914-6.
4. 993 TT
5. Carrera GT
6. 917-30. I first read about this car when I was 12, and read "The Unfair Advantage", by Mark Donohue. That year Porsche won Le Mans, and it started my Porsche journey for me. I believe it may also be the first racer that legendary Norbert Singer worked on, and helped to dominate Can Am.
7. '84 Carrera in silver blue. Yes, I bought this car. It was the one that I lusted after my entire high school years, and it was started by an article in Car and Driver showing a lady dressed like a nun. That car was black, but then I saw the movie "No Man's Land" in 1987. I was very impressionable at that time.
8. In the book "Excellence Was Expected", there is a picture of Harm Lagaay
sitting next to a prototype model. It looks to be a street car that is vaguely reminiscent of the 917-30 short tail racer. I would like that prototype, if one was ever made.
9. 1970 914-6.
10. my next Porsche, whatever that turns out to be.
