I wonder if the Department of Water Resources knows they sound like idiots that don't know what they are talking about when they constantly go on TV, proclaim something, then the exact opposite happens.

First, they said they had to re-open the spillway due to inflows rising (understandable) but the damage wouldn't get worse..it did, way worse. Then they said they would be able to control the levels using the existing spillway and wouldn't need the emergency spillway...they couldn't and they did. Now they are saying everything is still fine and no danger of flooding...here's to hoping.

I get that this isn't an exact science and they weren't prepared for it, but when you're wrong all along the way, telling people there is no danger of flooding doesn't give anyone a warm and fuzzy feeling. At least it's sunny for a couple days (though rain is on the horizon again)
