Gary was miffed about not being offered the ride, so he bought a clapped out old speedster for $2,000, entered the race in the same class, and smoked the Porsche/Audi sponsored 924! Many PCAers loved it!
I think Todd Webb was one of the eight founders of Team Continental back in 1957.

"There were eight founding members, all of whom were employees of Continental Motors which was then located at 19th and Morrison in Portland, Oregon. The founding members were sports car enthusiasts and most of them owned race cars. The group joined the newly founded International Conference of Sports Car Clubs. Initially Team Continental was entered into the International Conference of Sports Car Clubs as an affiliate member."

Todd was a friend of mine but I never asked him before he died many years ago of brain cancer. I would have also asked him if he remembered my 1963 Cabriolet being sold to a prominent surgeon at Continental in 1963. The Kardex just says P.C.Northwest, but the original owners son said he ordered it it from the Porsche dealer that was close to their house on Council Crest. Continental was at the bottom of the hill so that makes sense.

I've put this Continental frame on the car, but it is obviously a later frame since it also has Audi listed.
