I drove my 944 Turbo from Buffalo to Central Illinois, and then a few years later from Central Illinois to Austin, TX. I had zero issues on either trip.
I'd add a multimeter to your list. Many of the issues I had with my 944s were electrical (mostly due to age or corrosion).
