I am seriously thinking about turning in my sedan for a 911 as my work car. I am in So. Cal. Commute is 30 miles RT. I am in and out at appts. Log +/- 17k miles per year.

Looking for opinions on how a 996 ('02 -'04) or 997 ('05-'07, S if I can find one) would hold up in this role. 996 is priced right for this purpose with an upgrade to bluetooth if bought from an enthusiast with good service history. 997, while more $, is newer with improvements, better lines and performance.

Trying to stay in the sub $35k range for the car. Thoughts on best years to consider and mileage cap/limit to be concerned with - any other insights from others who do this would be appreciated.
