Prices are low for a reason. Supply and demand.
Personally - I never liked the styling of the 996, even after they changed the boxter headlights. I'm sure its a lot of car, they wanted more displacement, and that was the only way to get it. I guess if you HAVE to have a Porsche, and that fits your budget, well OK then.
